Incident Overview (June 2020 – Present)

I am a UK author and former British soldier. In April 2020 I submitted my unpublished novel Bloodborg: The Harvest to Riot Forge and to Curtis Brown Group (London). Key story elements then appeared in Riot’s Netflix series Arcane. Whistle-blowers and partial e-mails confirm a “narrative re-scope” approved summer 2020 that placed the Piltover–Zaun civil-war plot, lifted from my book, at the centre. My civil case in Los Angeles was dismissed after Riot introduced fabricated Wayback evidence and blocked discovery; the matter is now on appeal.

Computer Intrusion and Root-Kit

Running Riot titles such as VALORANT requires installing Vanguard, a driver that loads in Windows ring 0. Independent researchers report it grants persistent kernel access, allowing Riot to read or overwrite any file, capture keystrokes and sideload unsigned code even while the game is closed. Tens of millions of US PCs therefore host a covert remote-access tool owned by a company that is 98.6 percent Tencent. Whistle-blowers also link former Riot executive Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street’s handle to earlier hacking activity.

Economic and Cultural Harm

Arcane has generated more than one billion dollars in streaming, in-game and merchandise revenue while denying me authorship credit and income. Riot’s IP theft also enables Tencent and NetEase to redirect Western creative and tech value chains to China.

Neurocognitive Warfare

Riot’s Player Research unit, formerly led by Shanti Blees (now VP Creative at the NetEase-funded studio Fantastic Pixel Castle), reportedly fed psychometric data from Vanguard into A/B tests of emotionally charged story beats. Export of this telemetry to Chinese servers can train persuasion and influence-operation models.

Harassment and Intimidation

Since filing suit I have logged more than 300 threats:

• IP 130.206.41.131 (University of the Balearic Islands) warned that database scrubbing was under way.

• IP 172.90.23.252 (Charter LA) and 68.8.104.69 (Cox San Diego) urged me to kill myself.

Messages reference sealed court filings, indicating internal leaks.

Spoliation and Evidence Flight

At SREcon-EMEA Amsterdam, 26 Oct 2022, an ex-Riot engineer presented “Scaling Narrative Ops at Riot Games.” Slide 18 quoted Greg Street: “We approved a narrative re-scope this summer that puts the Piltover Zaun conflict front and centre.” Riot DMCA-purged public copies and, according to whistle-blowers, shipped overclocked PCs to Fortiche Las Palmas for disk wiping (Chronodisk). Assets are now moving to NetEase cloud buckets.

Links to PRC State Interests

Tencent and NetEase must assist Chinese state security under Articles 7 and 14 of the PRC National Intelligence Law. Both back studios launched by the three Arcane gatekeepers, suggesting possible military-civil fusion access to US players’ data.

Requested Action

1.      Open a criminal investigation for theft of trade secrets, computer intrusion (18 U.S.C. 1030), economic espionage (18 U.S.C. 1831), conspiracy, fraud on the court (fabricated Wayback evidence and false timeline declarations) and spoliation of evidence by Riot Games and its outside counsel.

2.      Examine potential perjury and obstruction by Riot’s legal team, which misrepresented development timelines and suppressed discovery before the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

3.      Issue immediate preservation orders to

• Riot Games, West Los Angeles HQ

• Fortiche Production, Paris and Las Palmas

• Netflix, Los Angeles office

• NetEase Games, US subsidiary

• Curtis Brown Group, London

4.      Subpoena USENIX Association for the full slide deck and speaker notes of “Scaling Narrative Ops at Riot Games” (SREcon EMEA, 26 Oct 2022) together with Riot Forge submission logs and related correspondence.

5.      Conduct a technical assessment of the Vanguard anti-cheat driver as a potential unregistered foreign-intelligence collection tool installed on millions of US computers.

I retain original manuscripts, submission receipts, raw threat e-mails with headers, IP geo-lookups and sworn whistle-blower statements. All materials are available upon request.
